NeuroBears - autism training for families

NeuroBears is for autistic young people, and their families, who want to learn what it means to be Autistic in a really positive way.

The course has been created, with permission, by Nic King of PANDAS Online and is based on Kieran's The Inside of Autism training.

Kieran co-delivers on NeuroBears training with Nic, so you'll spot him in the videos. If you've taken The Inside of Autism you'll recognise things like The History of Autism, Kieran's concept of The Autistic Superhighway and more, but all in a family friendly style.

NeuroBears was inspired by, and is based on, The Inside of Autism. So it covers similar topics to The Inside of Autism but in a kid-friendly, accessible, Autism-positive way and it's designed for families to work through together.

What's included in NeuroBears

NeuroBears costs £75 for lifetime access for your family and includes;

12 easy-to-watch videos (a total of 90 minutes). Workbooks for kids and workbooks for adults.

So much positivity about what it means to be Autistic (whilst not glossing over the tough bits).

The opportunity for your young person to truly get to know and understand themselves and use that to advocate for themselves.

Lots of real life examples from Nic, Kieran and Nic's teenager (who is an amazing young autism advocate too!)

Topics covered include; history of Autism, a positive strengths-based diagnosis model, Autism myths, Neurodivergence - Autism + environment = outcome, co-occurring conditions, sensory experience, overwhelm and meltdowns and shutdowns, Autistic communication, Autistic Masking, Autistic burnout, Autistic identity.

If you've taken Kieran's 'The Inside of Autism' training you'll find the structure is very similar, with many of the same topics, but all in a kid and family friendly package.

The training doesn't shy away from big words or themes (delivered in an age appropriate way). We believe that if a 6 year old can say complicated Latin words for dinosaurs they can deffo say 'monotropism'!

Meet Nic

Nic is the owner of PANDAS Online and the creator of NeuroBears.

As well as being Autistic and Mum to Autistic kids Nic has been the chair of a local Autism charity in the UK. You can find out more about her work on her website.

Nic kept badgering Kieran to make a version of The Inside of Autism for kids but he didn't get around to it. So Nic did it herself (with Kieran's permission of course) and made him get involved, so you'll spot him in the videos too!

NeuroBears is for kids aged 8-14 but older and younger have also loved it. Watch the videos and get a feel for it as you know your child(ren) best. If you're a school or business etc Nic offers licences and you can get in touch about those on the PANDAS Online website.
