Autism training for businesses, schools, CAMHS, charities etc
Most autism training is stereotypical, wrapped up in non-Autistic behavioural-based perspectives and incredibly deficit focused and ultimately useless. It doesn't have any meaning.
The Inside of Autism strips back those stereotypes, provides insight from multiple Autistic perspectives, is grounded in up-to-date research; and shifts from a centred non-Autistic viewpoint to an Autistic one.

The group version of The Inside of Autism gives your team access to all of the same online pre-recorded training and resources as in the individual version for at least a year AND three hours of dedicated Q&A time with Kieran (which is recorded and added to your training).
The Inside of Autism For Groups gives you access to 8 hours+ of training, the workbook and a selection of resources plus 3 hours of Q&A time with Kieran (which are recorded and added to your training).
The training will make you sit uncomfortably at first (especially if you are a professional) and is very much designed to challenge you and your current perceptions of the autism narrative.
It covers six topics which form one complete narrative arc which, when completed, will leave you in a place where you're able to think critically, and positively, about autism and what it means to be Autistic.
Your team has access to;

It is priced based on the size of your group.
The price reflects not only the training everyone receives individual access to, but also the 3 hours of dedicated Q&A time with Kieran.
However, it's priced competitively to make it as affordable as possible and will, for most larger groups, work out cheaper than buying multiple, individual licences. The individual training is $50/£40 per person and only offers the on-demand training (so no Q&A time with Kieran).
If you're a smaller group please don't be be afraid to contact us as we'll always try to ensure we can make the training affordable for you too. We want the training to be as accessible as possible, so if we need to be flexible to meet a smaller budget we will try our very best to to this. We have worked with many smaller charities and non-profits and understand the pressures on budgets. We're only a small, family business but we are committed to being flexible with our pricing so that as many people as possible can access The Inside of Autism.
A variety of organisations worldwide have taken The Inside of Autism together as a group (we are based in the UK).

About your Q&A time with Kieran
You Q&A with Kieran is where you can discuss the course content in greater depth. However, you can discuss anything your group feels is important and relevant. So you don't need to stick to the course content, and we often find the Q&As can go in completely unexpected directions!
This is why so many customers tell us their Q&A time with Kieran was priceless as it was exclusively for their team and their bespoke needs and questions.
You can also choose to not have a Q&A and instead us that time with Kieran as more of a consultancy space. For example, some clients have used the time to discuss how best to incorporate knowledge from the training into practice and how to build inclusive policies around their new knowledge.
You can choose to use your 3 hours in two ways; 2 x 1.5hr sessions (one in the middle of the training and one after completion) or 1 x 3 hour session once you've completed the training. You pre-book this in advance at the point of booking. We can also offer evening sessions with Kieran to match international timezones.

Most autism training is stereotyped, generic and behaviouralist; and fails to incorporate the insight and wealth of knowledge that exists within the worldwide Autistic community, which research is now only beginning to wake up to.
This course is designed not as autism training, but as a challenging and stark reframing of your understanding of Autistic people, young and old, against the backdrop of a narrative that pathologises, dehumanises and stigmatises us.
If you are a Professional the course will challenge your confirmation bias and push you to removing your focus from 'autism', to refocus on Autistic *people* allowing you to reconceptualise the way you identify, work with and support Autistic people in an informed way, whether those are Autistic children or adults; and truly humanising Autistic people in the process.
If you are a parent or carer the course is designed to give you insight from the perspective of your loved-one, reframing your understanding of their behaviours and needs; and empowering you to listen to your gut and be able to advocate for them from a place of strength; enabling you to enable them to have autonomy and authenticity.
If you are Autistic the course is designed to validate your experience, help define and name those experiences in a shared and relatable way; and centre the voice of Autistic people as the centre of knowledge about autism.
Previous attendees include Autistic and non-Autistic people: Parents, Teachers and Teaching Assistants, Academics, Nurses, Doctors, clinical and research Psychologists, Psychiatrists, CAMHS and CYPS workers, MH professionals, SLTs, OTs, Local Authority workers and a whole lot more.
These were all people who recognised that the way they are working isn't working, who wanted to learn to do things differently, do better and are now doing better. Some of whom return a second or even third time because of the amount of learning that goes on and the sense of community that it encourages.
My sincere hope this that having access to the private version of The Inside of Autism, along with your 3 hours of Q&A time with me, will enable you to go even deeper in deconstructing your understanding of the Autism narrative.
"Seeing, hearing and being with other autistic adults is really nice and essential. Extra nice that they come from different countries."
"‘The Inside of Autism’ is trajectory changing for all who participate. This is a must for ALL educators, professionals and families seeking to be allies to the Autistic community. Please walk in the door with Kieran. You won’t regret it! It is the ONLY course I have taken twice, and I would do so again!!"
"I am a primary school trained teacher and I have just started teaching in a special class and this course has given me soooooo much more understanding and compassion for my students."
"This was a hugely inspiring, informative, eye-opening, challenging (rightly), and powerful training course. Thank you so much."
"Just to say a big thank you. The course has been amazing.
As a parent of an autistic son (and possibly daughter who has slipped under the radar so far), my introduction to the autistic world has been quite the journey!
As a student SLT, listening to what is primarily still deficit based autism teaching has been "interesting" (and I may have got myself into trouble a few times by challenging some things!!)
But this course has been the affirming, breath of fresh air I really needed. The delivery of the course is fabulous, and the organisation and communication is brilliant."
"There is a real sense of community and it is really humbling to see important names from the autism advocacy communities taking the course alongside newbies like me, and picking up on their ideas, links and side comments has brought me a lot of extra food for thought that I wasn't expecting.
What I like most is how Kieran gets you to the essential concepts the long way, by peeling away gradually all the layers of bias, misinformation and malpractice, until you are left with a sense of validation and agency. It is a bit of a journey, but one worth taking several times, and sharing with others."
"This course was truly phenomenal. I appreciate how much time and energy went into curating and delivering it, and I have learned so much more about autism and Autistic experiences having completed it. I also found the opportunity to ask questions invaluable. It really has completely changed my understanding of autism and will impact my work (and my personal relationships) for the rest of my life. Thank you!"
"I have found the course in extremely informative, eye opening and emotional at times. I originally signed up to gain knowledge to support my daughter but I have identified with many things discussed over the week. Having experienced anxiety, social anxiety and obbessional thinking since childhood. I have always felt I never quite fitted in in many environments. This has now prompted me to seek a ASD assessment through the support of my GP. Thankyou so much it is an amazing course with lots practical resources as well as being extremely validating, more than I could have imagined to be honest."
"This is a generous and heartfelt offering to the mental health training available for professionals. All practitioners should do this training as a foundation for best practice with autistic people and as an invitation to a much deeper level of understanding and advocacy."
"Affirming, Affirming, Affirming! I'm a recently self-identified autistic woman in my 50s, so it's taking a great deal of adjustment and energy working through internal changes. This course has helped me to feel a sense of belonging that I've always been searching for. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"
"This course is so comprehensive, informative and gets to the nitty gritty and sometimes uncomfortable stuff. This is social justice work that Kieran is doing.
I have recommended to so many colleagues and friends. It has been life changing."
"FUCKING BRILLIANT. I have already told probably hundreds of people on the Professional FB pages I belong to about you and this, and I already signed up to request info on how to become an affiliate. I am DOWN FOR THIS FIGHT!"
"This is the most eye-opening experience of my life. I have a degree in psychology. I focused on child development and "abnormal" psych courses. The DSM was our "bible" in school (how flawed was that!). I have been working with children since I was 14 years old, for 20 years! I thought I knew autism. I thought I knew ADHD. Not only have I taken away so much information for myself, I have gained such a better understanding for my students. Especially surrounding meltdowns and shutdowns. This should be mandatory training for every educator. I have never felt so "seen" before. Having a name for the things that I do that are so different than everyone in my life, realizing that I'm not crazy - I feel so validated. Thank you!! "
"I would just like to thank you for providing me with so much information that I can now use to better understand myself and my familyalong with the increased ability to support my ND clients better.
I also appreciated the recordings. It enabled me to work through the sessions at my pace - I learn things best when I write them down but I cannot do this at speed! The recordings enabled me to pause, reflect, take notes as I went and I believe I have likely been able to understand and process way more as a result.
And the additional resources! There is so much there for me to go away and 'monotrope' with Thank you!"
"I wanted to express my gratitude to the whole team for putting together such an instructive, comprehensive, and grounded overview of autism. I worked as an ABA therapist in the US for a year immediately after graduating university, and that experience had a profound (largely negative) impact on how I view autism intervention (i.e., the need for it) and my trust in the research and narratives around autism. Since that experience, I’ve sought out alternative perspectives as a researcher myself and have been met with strong resistance. This course has been both validating and challenging. A main take away for me is that my educational process around autism will never end. The work you’re doing with this course does have a real impact (even on researchers, who never listen or learn!), and I promise to be the louder voice when the problematic researchers start blabbing on and on."
"The course was brilliant, full of informative and informed content, so refreshing and liberating to hear from actually autistic people as a very newly late-diagnosed autistic adult myself and as a parent of an autistic child. A great mix of a wealth of information (saving me a load of my own research time!) and analysis and such a brilliant validation of autistic experience. Other training and support often comes from a neurotypical perspective which pathologises and can get in the way of real understanding of autistic people and lead to harmful decisions. The course was such a perfect introduction to being autistic and truly life-changing. It should be taken by all professionals working with autistic people. I can't thank you all enough for doing this."
I know not everyone wants, or needs to buy one of my training courses, but I often find people will read one of my free articles and want to say ‘thank you’ (and this is really appreciated as they’re a lot of work to write!)
Buying me a virtual coffee is a really easy way to say thanks.
It also supports me to keep being able to create new, free content and also keep my older, free content up-to-date. It also allows me to keep my website ad-free.
My Autism FAQs page is a good place to start if you’re new to my work and want to explore more. Thanks for your support, Kieran.
And, as a thank you for joining, you'll get a 10% off code emailed to you which you can use on Kieran's on-demand autism training
